National Ride Network

Terms of Service

Last updated 26 August 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and National Ride Network. By creating an account, joining the waitlist, buying a membership, or otherwise using the site, you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. The service

National Ride Network ("NRN", "we", "us") is a membership network for cyclists. We publish information about group rides, routes, and races, and we negotiate discounts with partner shops, brands, hotels, and restaurants. NRN mainly organizes information about rides rather than the rides themselves; where we do run one, we say so on that ride's page.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 16 to hold an account, and 18 to buy a membership.
  • Give us accurate information and keep it current.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your password to yourself and tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
  • Memberships are personal to you. Do not share your account. We limit the number of devices that can use one membership at the same time, and we may suspend accounts that appear to be shared.

3. Membership and billing

Plans and pricing

We offer a free tier and paid annual memberships. Current prices are shown on the site. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax we are required to collect.

Automatic renewal

Paid memberships renew automatically every year at the price then in effect, charged to your payment method on the anniversary of your purchase, until you cancel. You may cancel at any time from your account settings.

Cancellation and refunds

  • Cancel any time. Your membership continues to the end of the period you have paid for, and is not renewed after that.
  • New members may request a full refund within 14 days of their first payment, provided you have not yet redeemed a partner discount. Once a discount has been used, the membership has been used, and the payment stands. Email us and we will process it.
  • After 14 days, payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.

Price changes

Membership prices are subject to change. A price change never affects a membership you have already paid for — you keep the price you paid for the rest of your year. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a new price applies to your renewal, and you may cancel before it takes effect.

Failed payments

If a renewal payment does not go through, we will let you know and try again over the following days — cards expire and banks decline for all sorts of ordinary reasons. Your membership benefits may be paused while a payment is outstanding, and they resume as soon as it clears. You can update your payment method any time from your account.

4. Rides, routes, and your safety

Cycling carries real risk of serious injury or death. You ride entirely at your own risk and are solely responsible for your own safety.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Most rides listed here are not ours. They are run by clubs, shops, and individuals who are not our employees or agents, and we do not organize, lead, or supervise them. Where a ride is run by NRN, we will say so plainly on that ride's page — and everything else in this section still applies to it.
  • Routes and GPX files are provided for information only. Road conditions, traffic, surfaces, closures, and hazards change, and we do not survey or verify them.
  • Elevation, distance, and surface data may be inaccurate.
  • You are responsible for obeying all traffic laws, riding within your ability, wearing appropriate safety equipment, checking that your bicycle is roadworthy, and judging whether conditions are safe.
  • You should carry your own insurance. Membership is not insurance and provides no medical, liability, or accident cover. Some of our partners offer cover for riders; they are independent businesses, any policy is between you and them, and NRN does not sell, broker, or advise on insurance.

To the fullest extent the law allows, you assume all risk arising from riding, and you release NRN from claims arising out of any ride, route, or event you learn about through the service.

5. Accident help

We may point members to legal or other professional services. Those firms are independent, we do not provide legal advice, and nothing on the site creates a lawyer-client relationship. Any engagement is between you and that firm.

6. Partner discounts

  • Partner offers are provided by the partner, not by us, and are subject to that partner's terms, stock, and availability.
  • Partners may change or withdraw offers at any time, and partners may join or leave the network.
  • We do not guarantee any particular saving, and the savings figures shown on the site are estimates, not promises.
  • If a partner does not honour your member discount, that is ours to fix. Tell us and we will take it up with them. The discount is what your membership bought, and chasing it is not your job.
  • Anything about the goods or service themselves — a faulty item, a delivery, a return — is between you and that partner, on their terms, exactly as it would be for any other customer of theirs.

7. Acceptable use

When using NRN, do not:

  • Break the law, or encourage anyone else to.
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other members.
  • Post content that is false, misleading, obscene, or infringes someone else's rights.
  • Share your account, resell membership benefits, or misuse partner discounts.
  • Scrape, copy, or redistribute our routes, listings, or partner information for a competing service.
  • Attempt to breach the security of the site or interfere with its operation.
  • Contact, solicit, or attempt to meet a member under 18 privately, or ask any member for contact details, photographs, or personal information outside what the service is for.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach these terms.

7a. Members under 18, and messages between members

There is no private messaging on NRN, and there will not be. Members can be as young as 16, and a private channel between an adult and a teenager is the thing we are least able to see and most need to prevent.

So that this is not just a promise:

  • Club conversations are visible to everyone in that club and to us. Nothing said here is private, and you should not treat it as private.
  • We keep records of what is posted, and we can read, remove, or preserve any of it.
  • Every message can be reported. Reports involving a member under 18 go to the top of the queue.
  • We remove content and suspend accounts without warning and without waiting to hear the other side where a member's safety may be at stake. Getting that wrong occasionally costs somebody an afternoon; getting it wrong the other way costs far more.

We have no tolerance for grooming, sexual content involving a minor, threats, or attempts to move a young member into a private conversation elsewhere. Accounts doing any of this are removed permanently and are not restored on appeal.

We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as United States law requires, and we will preserve records and cooperate with law enforcement on lawful request — or on our own initiative where we believe someone is in danger. We will not demand a warrant before helping to keep a child safe.

If something on NRN worries you, email nationalridenetwork@gmail.com. If a child is in immediate danger, call 911 first.

8. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post — group names, messages, event details, and anything else. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute it for the purpose of running the service. You confirm you have the right to post it.

9. Our content

The NRN name, logo, site design, curated routes, and partner listings belong to us or our licensors. You may use them only as needed to use the service.

10. Availability

We aim to keep NRN available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. If we discontinue a paid membership entirely, we will refund the unused portion.

11. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that information on the site is accurate, complete, or current.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NRN will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify NRN against claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the service.

14. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the service. Sections 8 through 13 survive termination.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top reflects the current version. For changes that materially affect your rights, we will give members at least 30 days' notice by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
